Award-winning pianist Euan Stevenson takes his trio to Anstruther Town Hall for an afternoon concert on Sunday 29th June as part of the East Neuk Festival.
Stevenson is active and respected in both the jazz and classical music worlds. He is the co-writer and musical director for popular singer and Jazz FM favourite, Georgia Cecile and has worked with vocalist Tina May and guitarist Jim Mullen. He also co-leads, with saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski, the band New Focus, whose self-titled debut album was shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award and who have played at Ronnie Scott’s in London and Celtic Connections in Glasgow as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow jazz festivals.
Stevenson has also arranged music for the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Bach Choir, the English Chamber Orchestra and international revered violinist Pinchas Zukerman.
His trio, with bassist Andy Sharkey and drummer Tom Gordon, play tunes associated with some of Stevenson’s favourite pianists including Duke Ellington, Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson. The concert starts at 2pm.
