Fundraising concert brings vintage jazz, blues and folk band to Dundee

The Weaver Incorporation of Dundee stages a fundraising concert featuring the Traveling Janes on Saturday 31st January at Dundee Congregational Church.

 

The Traveling Janes are a collective of women who perform vintage jazz and old time blues, with added folk songs from Ireland and the British Isles.

 

Featuring musicians from California, France, Texas, Singapore and Scotland the group comprises banjo, piano reeds, tuba, drums and vocals and have appeared at venues including Ronnie Scott’s in London and Le Caveau de la Huchette in Paris and festivals in Switzerland, Denmark and Japan.

 

The Weaver Incorporation of Dundee is a community organisation which can trace its origins back to 1512 when it received its charter from Dundee Town Council. It is one of the famous Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee and plays an expanding role in the local communities of Dundee, Angus and Perthshire through a programme including educational programmes.

 

The concert runs from 7pm to 9pm and tickets cost £22.38.
