Mundell Music has announced plans to create a multi-purpose addition to the venue the company runs at the Green Hotel in Kinross.
The Vault, which sits adjacent to the Backstage venue which has hosted hundreds of concerts by heritage bands, is being developed to incorporate display space for memorabilia, a recording studio and an educational area for music-based activities including guitar tuition, songwriting courses and sound technology.
The company hopes to complete the project by October and when finished will, say Mundell Music, create a tourist attraction within Scotland and the immediate locality.
Since moving from the Bein Inn in nearby Glenfarg, where attractions included residencies by singer-songwriter John Martyn and concerts by touring Americana acts, Mundell Music has brought bands including Soft Machine, Fairport Convention, Man and It’s a Beautiful Day, as well as vintage blues and jazz singer Maria Muldaur and guitar virtuoso Albert Lee, to Kinross as part of a regular programme in an intimate, atmospheric space.
Upcoming gigs include Soft Machine (9th April), Jazz Sabbath, Dave Kelly & Christine Collister and Claire Hamill.
